Voor uitdagende trainingen, kyokushin-mentaliteit en sfeer kunt u jaarlijks deelnemen aan ons Katsu-karatekamp op Schiermonnikoog. Dojo Katsu organiseert dit al meer dan 35 jaar onder vlag van de International BudoKai. Het begon met een groep karateka’s die met de kano van Winsum naar Pieterburen vertrok, om vervolgens over het wad naar Schiermonnikoog te lopen. Dit was een tocht van 4 uur.  Ze sliepen in legertenten en er werd onder alle weersomstandigheden getraind.

Inmiddels is het kamp uitgegroeid tot een groot evenement met comfortabelere omstandigheden. Door karateka’s uit verschillende Europese landen en zelfs Sri-Lanka wordt het kamp graag bezocht. In 2020 was er een recordaantal van zo’n 100 aanmeldingen.

Gasttrainers komen uit het Kyokushin, Shin-Kyokushin, Kyokushin-Kenbukai, Zen-Kyokushin, Ashihara karate en overige full-contact stijlen. Kortom: zeer divers en uitdagend.

Alle organisaties zijn vertegenwoordigd.

Het karateweekend op Schiermonnikoog vindt ieder jaar aan het eind van de zomer plaats. Er wordt overnacht in de Springfield-boerderij in het dorp. Het programma bestaat uit variërende trainingen van (gast)trainers op locaties als het strand, in de duinen, de Berkenplas of op het veld bij de boerderij. In de avond kan men genieten van een heerlijke maaltijd en is er tijd elkaar te spreken.

Op zaterdag is er de mogelijkheid om voor kumite Noord naar Schiermonnikoog te komen. Ook kan je dan de strandtraining, lunch en diner bijwonen. De kosten hiervoor bedragen 30 euro. Belangrijk om mee te nemen zijn scheenbeschermers, een handdoek en natuurlijk een goed humeur! Aanmelden kan via de knop onderaan deze pagina.

If you like challenging training sessions, good atmosphere and a real Kyokushin mentality, you can join our annual karate-camp on the island of Schiermonnikoog. Dojo Katsu has been organising the camp for over 35 years under the banner of the International Budokai.

It all started with a group of karateka’s canoeing from Winsum to Pieterburen, after which they went mudflat hiking all the way to Schiermonnikoog. This was a 4-hour trip. On Schiermonnikoog, they slept in army tents and trained in all weather conditions.

Nowadays, the camp has grown to a big event with more comfortable circumstances. It is visited by karateka’s from all over Europe, and even Sri Lanka. In 2020, there was a record of around 100 applications.

The classes are taught by guest-trainers from all different styles and organisations: Kyokushin, Shin-Kyokushin, Kyokushin-Kenbukai, Zen-Kyokushin, Ashihara Karate and other full-contact styles.

All organisations are represented.

The karatecamp on Schiermonnikoog always takes place at the end of the summer. The nights will be spent at the Springfield-accommodation in the island village (also called Schiermonnikoog). The programme contains varying classes on locations like the beach, in the dunes, at the ‘Berkenplas’ or on the front lawn at the accommodation. In the evening everyone can enjoy a nice meal and socialize.
